Inside Out, Upside Down, no............ In-n-Out Burger

If you have followed my blog in the past, you have heard me mention In-n-Out Burger. It is a fast food hamburger chain that is located in the Western part of the country. Now, I am not a fast food lover per say, but on occasion, I do love a hamburger. Since I had bypass surgery, it seems that the only type of hamburger that I can really enjoy is a thinner burger, of a fast food nature. I think however, that if In-n-Out was on the East Coast, I would become a fast food aficionado. I love In-n-Out, and whenever I visit the West Coast, most of the time that means Las Vegas, my daughter Lauren and I love to go to In-n-Out Burger.

According to their website "In 1948, the first In-N-Out Burger was founded by Harry and Esther Snyder in Baldwin Park. Harry's idea of a drive-thru hamburger stand where customers could order through a two-way speaker box was quite unique. In that era, it was common to see carhops serving those who wanted to order food from their car. Harry's idea caught on and California's first drive-thru hamburger stand was born."

Sketch of the original In-n-Out Burger

No matter what the time of day, you will always find
people sitting in In-n-Out enjoying a burger

You will often hear the movie stars say that
they are heading to In-n-Out, actually,
they always seem to head there after all the Oscar parties -
wonder what that says about all the chi-chi, fou fou,
food being served at the big Galas.
I know that Paris Hilton is a fan,
so I guess we share more than just a birthday!
She is always stopping by the In-n-Outs in California...

Lauren and I headed to In-n-Out in Summerlin, Nevada,
(a suburb of Las Vegas)
on Teepee off Tropiciana,
to grab a quick bite to eat the other night,
as usual, as expected, it was delicious.

As you walk through the door, you are greeted
by the clean white tile decor,
accented with vivid reds and yellows.
The menu is just a basic hamburger, cheeseburger menu,
but that's why you came here in the first place.

I don't know what it is about this place that I love,
is it the fact that it is always bright
and cheerful when you go in...

Is it the fact that it is always immaculately clean...

Is it the fact that the employees are
always so accommodating...

Is it the fact that the employees
are always so friendly...

Is it the fact that you can watch your food
being cooked as you stand there...

Is is the fact that the price is so
reasonable...dinner for two
for under $13.00

Is it the fact that everybody
who eats there is so happy...

This is Weston, he was sitting
next to us and was so adorable
he was munching on his french fries

enjoying a night out with his Mom

and then, he was the mystery shopper

perhaps getting ready to write his
opinion in a Zagat's for kids

or

Is it that the food is just
damn good as fast food goes???

The menu at In-n-Out is very simple...
Hamburgers and Cheeseburgers

of course, if you are a Regular,
you know about Spread,

the secret sauce that goes on the burgers and fries...

you know about the secret menu,
(yes, if you are vegetarian, they have
grilled cheese on the secret menu)
you know what animal style means!

If you don't, then you should check
out their website and find out.

You can also hear from testers on the Badmouth Blog
and learn a little more about the secret
menu and what it has to offer.

As for me, I like my fries with spread,
and my cheeseburger animal style!!

Whenever did you see a regular cheeseburger
come out looking like this in those
other fast food burger places??????

There is one thing having bypass surgery does
for you - you just can't eat the whole thing!
But, I made a good attempt

Lauren is a chicken and won't try the animal style
she is a basic cheeseburger kind of girl

All in all, it was a great burger, a fun night
topped off by a straight flush at the Red Rock Casino

This is what In-n-Out promises,
and they deliver...

With much thanks to the staff in Las Vegas
for making this a fun experience and for being
so cooperative...
and to Weston and his Mom for
allowing us to put him on the blog!

And finally, a message to Corporate In-n-Out...
Come East young man, come East!!!!!
