Asparagus

My family likes asparagus.  I prefer them breaded like a veal cutlet, but they like them either steamed or baked in the oven. Today I steamed them and then placed them in the oven, but you can place them directly in the oven as well.

Asparagus:

2 batches of Asparagus
Olive Oil
Salt and freshly grated pepper
Sprinkle of garlic salt
1 -2  teaspoon grating cheese

Rinse the asparagus. Cut the thick end of the stalks off.  Yu can then either place the asparagus directly on a cookie sheet and prepare as directly below, or you can steam them for 2 minutes to speed up the cooking time.  Place in steaming bags and place in the microwave for 1 1/2 - 2 minutes.  Remove and place on a cookie sheet.  Sprinkle with a little olive oil, salt and pepper to taste, a little sprinkle of garlic salt and a little sprinkle og grating cheese.  Roll them with your fingers to get them evenly coated.  Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.  Bake for about 15 minutes.  I like them a little on the crisper side, so I cook them a little longer, but you can judge according to your own taste.

Ingredients for the Asparagus:

Cut off the thick ends of the stalks

Place in a steaming bag

Microwave for about 1 - 1 1/2 minutes

Place on a cookie sheet

Drizzle with olive oil

Season with salt

and freshly ground black pepper

Sprnkle with a little garlic salt

and

grated cheese

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Bake for about 15-20 minutes depending on the
thickness of the asparagus and your own taste.
